The Snapflat Latch design delivers 2 important safety benefits compared to conventional over centre latches / fasteners.
Firstly, when engaged with the hook the springs keep the latch always engaged regardless of whether the latch has been secured into the over centre position or not. This FAIL-SAFE feature ensures the latch cannot accidently de-couple from the hook, which can be critical in certain applications.
Secondly, when de-coupled from the hook or catch the springs ensure the latch `snaps’ back into a flat position and prevents the latch and handle from flopping around. This prevents accidental damage to the latch and personal injuries.
The Snap-Flat latch is made from 304 Stainless Steel, is lockable, has a certified breaking strain in excess of 1 Tonne. The adjustment range from the front of the latch to the tip of the T-Bar is 36.5 to 61.5mm (Total latch length including handle is 140 – 165mm).
